Re: Looking for hoopers in CT
Mon, January 14, 2008 - 7:49 PMHi Joanna-
I'm in Willimantic and I work in Storrs and would LOVE to find a hooper who knows what she or he is doing. I went to a retreat in MN last May with my mom and saw this incredible hoop dancer there and become mesmorized. Bought a hoop, and it languishes in my garage. Need to find some people who can give me a good kick in the butt and inspire me. Need to find some indoor space too i suspect with all this snow. Just joined tribe to find you all, haven't got a clue what that really means either since I am so techno phobic. Ah well. One thing at a time.
Let me know if there are others in Eastern CT who have the gift! Thanks, Hilary -

Re: Looking for hoopers in CT
Fri, January 18, 2008 - 4:45 AMHmm....can you clear out any space in your garage? I have a tiny spot I use to hoop indoors, it's not much, but it's better than nothing.
When it gets warmer out we can meet at a park or something, If I bring a bunch of hoops I'm sure we won't be the only ones hooping. =)
As for inspiration and a kick in the butt, look around tribe, there is a video tutorial hoop tribe that will get you started!

Re: Looking for hoopers in CT
Thu, February 14, 2008 - 3:18 PMHi Joanna and other Eastern CT hoopers-
I'm looking for a hoop dancer to give demonstrations and do a little teaching at a Family Nutrition and Wellness Expo I'm helping organize. The date is Sat., Mar. 29, from 10am - 2pm at the Windham Middle School in Willimantic. We're thinking we could have hula hoops as give aways to the kids. It's aimed mainly for kids middle school and younger, but we're targeting families, and once people see how cool it is they'll want an "adult" hoop. If any of you want to set up a table at the Expo let me know. We're trying to be open to both English and Spanish speakers, so if anyone is bilingual -it's a plus. A small stipend could be offered for the teaching demo. If interested or want more info, email me at revhilary@peoplepc.com
Thanks!

I'm just one of those people who tends to always be busy, but anyone is welcome to shoot me and email and try and pin me down. If it's nice out I have all the space in the world to hoop at my place, if it's not so nice then we can just hit the tv with the hoops, or I can always come visit. I love learnin new stuff and have too many hoops cause I love em. Drop me a line one and all.
